This 5 session programme is intended to provide a safe and nurturing space for your child to explore their anxiety (what’s going on in my head and my body?), normalise how they feel (it is okay!) and learn how to manage their symptoms (I can learn how to control how I feel!) using evidence-based approaches tailored to fit with their interests. Primary care-givers are considered co-therapists so that techniques can be practised between sessions; family members are encouraged to be as involved as possible. The Worried Kids programme utilises Cognitive Behavioural Therapy techniques combined with Art Therapy approaches, to help young minds make sense of their minds. Sessions are interactive, gentle, fun, and practical - based on the principle that the more varied and interesting ways we learn, the better we learn. Cognitive Behavioural Art Therapy helps us to understand concepts that are difficult to describe using language, and integrating play and creativity enables us to test out and explore new ways of being - making this a great approach for working with children of all ages. A free consultation is provided to ensure that this will be helpful to your child.
